The short version: StudyBot organizes your school life; be honest about who you are, don’t misuse it, and remember that your school portal — not StudyBot — is always the official source for what’s due.
1. Who you’re dealing with
StudyBot is operated by Eli Gassert (sole trader / autónomo, Barcelona, Spain) while the Spanish company (S.L.) is being formed; when registered, the S.L. takes over these terms. Contact: hello@mystudybot.app.
2. Your account
- Give truthful information — including your real date of birth, because Spanish law decides from it whether a parent must consent (under 14 today; the app pauses until they do).
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your session; tell us immediately if you think someone else got in.
- Only connect school accounts that are yours. Connecting someone else’s portal or email is grounds for immediate closure.
3. Acceptable use
Don’t attack the service, probe other people’s data, spam classmates through invites or broadcasts, or use StudyBot for anything illegal. Class sharing and teacher broadcasts exist to help students — school decides who may send official broadcasts, and abusing shared spaces loses you access to them.
4. Payments
Pro is optional; the free tier works.
- Year pass — €45, one-time, valid until the end of the current school year (June 30). Founding-member pricing (€39) is a limited promotion on the same pass. It does not auto-renew.
- Monthly — €5/month, a subscription you can cancel anytime; access runs to the end of the paid period.
- Family pass — €69, one-time, covers all children linked to the paying parent, until the end of the school year. Does not auto-renew.
Prices include VAT. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your card. Purchases are typically made by a parent for a student. Under EU consumer law you have a 14-day right of withdrawal; if you ask us to start the service immediately, a refund within those 14 days is reduced in proportion to the service already delivered. If your school covers Pro for its students, these payment terms simply don’t apply to you while that lasts.
5. Schools
When a school licenses StudyBot, the school covers Pro for its students and signs a data-processing agreement with us; official school broadcasts are sent under the school’s responsibility and only after the school accepts that role in the app.
6. Ending things
You can request account deletion at any moment (You → Your data, your call). Self-service deletion is mid rebuild and re-verification; if the in-app path fails or you need erasure urgently, write to privacy@mystudybot.app and we will complete it. We can suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users’ data at risk; where reasonable we’ll warn you first. Paid time on a closed-for-breach account is not refunded.
7. What StudyBot is (and isn’t)
StudyBot reads school portals that we don’t control. Portals change, break, and occasionally lie; scans can miss things or mis-read them. So: StudyBot is a helper, not the record. The school’s own portal is always the official source for assignments and deadlines, and a missed reminder is never an excuse we can sign for.
8. Liability
We run StudyBot with real care — encryption, isolation of each user’s data, automatic deletion schedules — but no online service can promise perfection. To the extent Spanish law allows: we are not liable for indirect damages (a missed deadline, a lost grade), and our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that Spanish law says cannot be limited (fraud, gross negligence), and nothing reduces your statutory consumer rights.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. Disputes go to the courts of Barcelona — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the venue and rights Spanish consumer law gives you. The European Commission’s online dispute-resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
10. Changes
These terms carry a version (top of the page). Material changes re-raise the in-app consent wall so you can read and accept — or export your data and leave, no hard feelings.
